At the moment thousands of people are getting their boats in the sea. If you get here by summer you need to explore our beautiful archipelago here in Gothenburg. With the ferry from Saltholmen you’ll get 20-30 different islands down here.
One place I recommend is Vrango(Vrångö or perverse-island).
You’ll get here by the ferry in 25 minutes from Saltholmen. When using the direct line. If you try the other one who will stop by ten islands on the way it takes twice the time. This slower ferry got a café onboard so you enjoy a good coffee, icecream, sandwiches onboard.
On the way you pass many islands and also see the life on sea. Don’t forget your camera.
This is a picture from Vrångö. You’ll find a couple of good made paths to follow.
These bronceage graves are quite common around the island.
On Vrango you got a good walk around the island and thousands of boats to admire.
Near this harbour on the west side you also got a supermarket where you are able to hire a parking for your boat, hire a cabin or just buy some food.
Some examples of cabins to hire.
Here you got shower, a small pentry, tv and beds. You are also able to get internet from the supermarket. They’ve got a telia hotspot and you pay maybe 10€ a day.
If you don’t want to cook by yourself you got a nice restaurant and kiosk nearby. You find the Miss Vrango(Fröken Vrångö) near the ferry on the east side of the island.
Here you´ll get a good service from Madeleine and Jenny all day long to late in the evening. You see Madeleine on the picture. They serve a lot of different dishes. I recommend their crabs and clawfish. You are also able to get a good pint for about 5€, wine, soda and coffee for a good price.
From centralstation you’ll get to the island in 1 and 1/2 hour. Se more on vasttrafik.se>>> and from Jarntorget maybe one. Easiest way is to use the line 11 tram and go to the endstation.
If you got a good day with sun then by a sixpack and go for it. The ticket you’ll get for no more then 2€.
